Of Cumberland County's 33 municipalities, 12 communities are mandated by law to establish municipal recycling programs. Additionally, six communities have voluntarily chosen to establish recycling programs. Overall, 18 municipalities have established municipal recycling programs and offer trash disposal and recycling through a contracted waste hauler. Two volunteer groups operate drop-off recycling programs in the western region of Cumberland County to recycle various materials. Both groups offer collections one Saturday a month and are open to the general public. To view which municipalities that offer specific recycling services, go to www.ccpa.net/cumberland/cwp/view.asp?a=1619&Q=465622&cumberlandNavDLTEST=|27490|.
