In order to offer more recycling opportunities to its residents, the Authority has established a countywide recycling drop-off program. There are currently nineteen (19) located throughout the county, open 24 hours, where residents can recycle their aluminum and steel cans, clear glass bottles and jars, as well as their old newspapers.

The Clinton County Solid Waste Authority operates a countywide recycling program which utilizes both curbside and drop-off collection methods. The Authority's commitment to the success of the county recycling program is made evident by the changes made to the recycling program since 1998, i.e., purchase of multi-material baler and processing equipment, facility improvements, and increased focus on recycling education.

Curbside Recycling:

The Authority also offers a bi-weekly curbside collection service to 12 municipalities within Clinton County. A nominal annual fee of $30 has been established to help offset the high operational costs associated with the curbside collection. The Authority is under contract with the City of Lock Haven to provide curbside collection to all City residents. As such, the Authority will not be charging City residents a fee for this service.

Drop-Off Recycling:
The Authority has established over 20 recycling drop-off sites throughout the county. This service is provided at no charge to county residents. The materials generally collected at these sites includes: aluminum and steel cans; clear, green, and brown glass bottles & jars; newspaper; corrugated cardboard; and No. 1 & No. 2 plastic bottles. Several of the satellite sites also collect magazines and mixed paper. The Authority's drop-off facility also accepts: mixed paper, motor oil, and car batteries.
