Information on how to recycle in Lehigh County can be found on the Lehigh County Office of Solid Waste Management website at www.lehighcounty.org. Visit their website to click on a link to information about recycling in your municipality.
You can also find information about Lehigh County's exciting composting program on their website. The Lehigh County Compost site is located on Old Packhouse Road in Schecksville. You can bring your yard waste to the compost site and also visit the site to pickup the finished compost, which has been turned into mulch.
The mulch at the Lehigh County Compost Site is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week for FREE, as long as you load it yourself. Composting is a great way to reuse, saving landfill space and improving your garden as well!

Allentown Recycling
In the City of Allentown, you can recycle the following materials: aluminum
and steel cans, aluminum pans and foil, glass, plastics, junk mail,
brown paper bags, mixed paper, newspaper, office paper, phone books, and
yard waste.
You can also recycle those materials and others at the Recycling Drop-off Centers
around the city. Proof of Allentown residency is required to use the Yard Waste
Drop-off facilities.

In the City of Bethlehem, you can recycle at the curbside and at three different recycling drop-off centers in the area. Materials collected at the curbside include aluminum and steel cans, aerosol cans, glass, plastics, and yard waste.

You can drop your recyclables off at one of these three locations:
Illicks Mill Road Drop-Off Center
Location: Illicks Mill Road, between Schoenersville Road and Center
Street
Materials Accepted: Aluminum and steel cans, aluminum pie pans (no foil),
aerosol cans, scrap metal, glass, plastics (#1-7), newspapers, mixed paper,
office paper, junk mail, magazines, books, phone books, brown paper bags, paperboard,
corrugated cardboard, and yard waste.
Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 10:30 AM-4:30 PM, Saturday, 10:00
AM-4:00 PM, and Sunday, 1:00 PM-4:00 PM
Eastern Waste Landfill
Location: Applebutter Road Materials Accepted: Books, commingled (glass,
cans, plastic), formed aluminum containers (pie pans etc., no foil), newspapers,
mixed paper, magazines, paperboard, corrugated cardboard, scrap metal and yard
waste. Appliances are also collected, but there is a charge of $1 per item and
they must have a Freon removal certificate.
Hours of Operation: Monday and Friday, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, Saturday 10:00
AM-4:00 PM, and Sunday 1:00 PM-4:00 PM
Compost Drop-Off Center
